I love how Harry just genuinely likes Luna. Not in a romantic way, but in a “I don’t know how or why but I get you and you get me and I’d be honored to call you a friend and if anyone messes with you I’ll wallop them” kind of a way. I think he just marvels at her level of don’t give a fuck and her absolute sense of self. And then he and Ginny partially name their daughter after her (Lily Luna) and that to me is just fucking precious.

unlike almost everybody close to harry her life has never been about him and i find that so refreshing and such a huge reason why they would have been so good for harry
she is one of the very very very few who never gave a damn about him being the boy who lived because she’s luna and she’s got her own story and nobody else gets to be the lead in it but at the same time she sees all the hurt and goodness in him and recognizes the pain of losing a parent and so he’s kind of fascinating to her not because he’s famous harry potter but because to her he’s another fascinating gorgeous magical creature only painfully painfully human
she’s like a breath of fresh air for him because she doesn’t unload anything onto him or ask anything from him
SHE UNDERSTANDS WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE A MISFIT AND HAVE EVERYBODY HATE YOU AND CALL YOU NAMES BEHIND YOUR BACK WHEN YOU’VE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT TRY TO ADJUST TO THE SHIT LIFE THROWS AT YOU
she has this warped but crystal clear perspective on things and he’s got this fire to him and they would have balanced each other out so gorgeously
he would have kept her grounded while she would have taught him to lighten up and enjoy life more #she would have been his escape and he would have been somewhere for her to belong
